fall leavesFall is my favorite season.  I love the crisp smell in the air, pumpkins, apple cider and cool clear nights.  I also love crunching leaves.  I mean really, really love crunching leaves!  I will go out of my way to crunch a good leaf 🙂

It makes me SO sad to see leaves shoved into plastic bags and left on curbsides to be picked up by a trash truck. These leaves are just going to sit in the bag for ages.  Fortunately there are many things to do with leaves and we can help raise awareness of how useful they are!

Uses for Fall Leaves

– Compost them (many cities even have curbside services to collect the leaves)
– Leave them in your grass.  They’ll break down and will be an awesome fertilizer for your lawn next year!!
– Turn them into fire logs- there are many DIY instructions out there including this one
-Ask your neighbors if you can rake for them and keep or compost the leaves
-Shred them for homemade mulch
-Use them for craft projects such as a leaf wreath
-Let your kids play in them!! The kids will help break them down for you and have a blast

Do you have any other ways to reuse leaves?
