Another Inspiring Woman – Gina Peak, Fluffy Tush Clothing

“Fluffy Tush Clothing was founded in 2013 when I saw a need that wasn’t filled. I was cloth diapering my youngest son and most of the clothes I had didn’t fit him right. I knew so many mamas that used cloth diapers yet I couldn’t find clothes that were made for babes with fluffy tushies”.

peacock_trans_webGina Peak is a wife, mother of 3 and the proud owner of Fluffy Tush Clothing. We talked with her recently to find out what she does and how she makes it all happen. Here is what she has to say:

Keeper– Tell us about yourself and your business. Before and after…
Gina- Prior to starting my business I was a pediatric nurse of 12 years. I loved what I did and never imagined myself doing anything else. Then my third son was born and I wanted to stay home with him for a little while to enjoy those precious moments and to save on the costs of daycare for 2 kids. A couple months into staying home I realized there weren’t really any pants for babies in cloth diapers and the idea of my business blossomed. I have always loved to sew but never in a million years did I imagine I would be doing this!

Keeper– What was the tipping point for your business?
Gina- The tipping point of my business was a few months ago when I realized I had to commit to it 100% and work on it EVERY SINGLE DAY! When I didn’t put forth effort to advertise and reach out to people my business wouldn’t be making any revenue.

Keeper- What do you do on a daily basis to grow as an entrepreneur?
Gina- I am still working on the best way to market and where to find the customers that are right for my items. I use social media a lot to network and spread the word about what I do.

Keeper- What systems have you set up in your business to help it grow?
Gina- I revamped my website to allow people to purchase items directly off of it, I have increased the amount of items I list in my etsy store and make sure to have my son in his Fluffy Tush items when we go out anywhere. He is a great advertisement!

Keeper- We want to help you. How can we?
Gina- I think the biggest thing I could use help with is just networking and marketing- figuring out how to get my business name out there so more people know about it and know what I can make. I recently had someone tell me they had no idea I made jeans for babes in cloth diapers and it’s one of the items I am most excited about because they are so awesome!
